How Change Begins
We understand the pain, confusion, despair, betrayal, anger, hopelessness, and helplessness that circumstances can bring. We understand the loss of control and the feeling of powerlessness. We understand how problems compound and begin to affect every aspect of one’s life.
Instead of psychiatric labels that can burden for life, we believe in the careful application of biblical truth that can liberate, make whole and equip for the life that God intended: “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Instead of medications that mask problems, we believe in the transforming power of God through His word. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
Changed Lives
“Without counsel, plans go awry, but in the multitude of counselors they are established.” Christian counseling isn’t just about feeling better; it’s about living right. One of our goals here at Oxford Valley Chapel is helping people make better decisions for life. Better decisions, with God’s grace, ultimately result in changed lives. And that’s what we’re all about.
OVC Counseling Center
The Counseling Center at OVC offers individual, couple, and family counseling. While donations are accepted, we do not charge for these services but do require the counselee(s) to complete assigned homework and to attend the services at Oxford Valley Chapel. Attendance at Oxford Valley Chapel is waived if the counselee is attending weekly church services elsewhere.
All counsel given is provided in accordance with biblical principles as adhered to by Oxford Valley Chapel and is not necessarily an affiliation with any local or national psychological or psychiatric Association. The counselors do not portray themselves or their counsel, either expressly or by implication, as meeting the customary psychological and/or psychiatric requirements. The counselors are biblical counselors, giving biblical counsel.
